Dragon*Con 2013

Wow! So, where to start? Sorry it has taken me almost a week to get this typed out and posted but it's been a hectic week around here. And promises to be a hectic month from here on out so no time like the present, yeah? Yeah.

This year's Dragon*Con was just as fun as last year and even more so in some ways since we were a team of five this year. B and I were joined by Minion and our best friends, Jerry and Megan, on the ten and a half hour drive from our mountain enclave. Of course there were bumps along the way as there are with any convention anywhere (including but not limited to some hiccups with the computer systems) but over all the convention was a rousing success. There was a metric ton of walking and the joy of the MARTA system. Moving the vendor halls to Americas Mart helped to alleviate some of the congestion within the three main hotels come Saturday morning. As always, there was a lot of standing and waiting. Waiting to stand in line and then standing in line. We were lucky enough to meet some of our favorite celebrities and chat with most of them a bit. Among those were John Barrowman, Noel Clarke, Doug Jones, Nicholas Vince, Craig Sheffer, Doug Bradley, Kelly Hu, Jaime Murray, and Nicholas Brendan. I know, personally, some of these meetings were the accomplishments of a few bucket list items and made my YEAR. The various makeups that I was able to do and costumes I was allowed to help with were well accepted and made the time spent worth while. Now here are a LOT of pictures to honor some of the amazing costumes that we saw at con this year.

I could put captions or tag ALL of these but let's face it...there's a LOT of pictures! These are posted pretty much in the order that the convention went down for us. There are pics from the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Ball and I even posted the ones from the Night at the Aquarium. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed seeing them in person! If you spot yourself, please let me know and I will be happy to add a link for you if you like.  Hope see some of you next year with my shiny new Maya Cosplay!
